Peringati Hari Pahlawan, UNIDA Bogor Gelar Perlombaan Tingkat Nasional

In commemoration of National Heroes' Day, Djuanda University (UNIDA) Bogor held a variety of national-level competitions on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

The competitions included a Quiz Bowl, poetry reading with national hero cosplay, a national and regional song singing contest, and a UNIDAKu Diary vlog competition. The events were attended by the UNIDA community and students from the Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) program across Indonesia

Event Chairman's Remarks

Faisal Tri Ramdani, S.Sos., M.A.P., the event's chairman, stated that the activity was held to commemorate the struggle of the national heroes who sacrificed for freedom from colonialism. He hoped the event would strengthen the bonds of fellowship among students as the next generation of the nation's leaders.

"Today, besides remembering the fallen heroes, we are also celebrating Heroes' Day with artistic appreciation and competitions. I hope this event can strengthen the fellowship among us, both for UNIDA Bogor students and PMM students. Even though this is a competition, it is one that can bring shared achievement and appreciation to boost our creativity," he said.

University Leadership's Perspective

Ir. H. Himmatul Miftah, Vice Rector III of UNIDA Bogor, officially opened the event and delivered a speech, noting that there are many ways to commemorate National Heroes' Day. Holding competitions is a great way to introduce national heroes in a different and more engaging manner.

"On this occasion, we are introducing national heroes through an event that is different from the usual seminars or lectures. We hope that competitions like the Quiz Bowl and poetry reading with hero cosplay will be more memorable, especially for the PMM students. Hopefully, this will become a cherished memory when they return to their regions," he explained.

Student and Closing Remarks

Haswin, a participant in the poetry reading competition from Universitas Halu Oleo in Southeast Sulawesi, expressed that such activities are very beneficial for boosting students' creativity, pushing them to explore and showcase their potential.

"There are many positive things about this competition to commemorate Heroes' Day. One of them is that it provides a platform for us to build relationships with each other, despite our differences in culture and tradition," he said.

At the closing ceremony, Vice Rector I of UNIDA Bogor, Dr. Ir. Ristika Handarini, MP, congratulated the winners. She expressed her hope that the event would motivate students to achieve even more in the future.
